What is disputedजो विवादित है

Koiripur was in Sultanpur district at the time of his birth; one widely-shared English account places it in Jaunpur.

DisputedSources conflict. Both versions are shown, with an assessment of which is stronger and why.

The Sultanpur reading is the stronger one: it appears in more sources and in the Hindi literary tradition. The Jaunpur confusion is explicable — he was schooled in Jaunpur district and Koiripur sits near the boundary. Only the District Gazetteer and the Sahitya Sammelan records will settle it.

Resolution path: the Sultanpur District Gazetteer, Hindi Sahitya Sammelan records, and any surviving school or land record. Site wording: “born in Koiripur, then in Sultanpur district”. The Jaunpur variant is flagged in a footnote rather than deleted.
